  17.     Exit Windows and start the program SETUP from the windows directory, 
  18.     choose at DISPLAY "Others", insert the new disk in the corresponding 
  19.     drive and press RETURN. Now follow the instructions given by the 
  20.     Windows SETUP program.

  25.     Only if you use  the standard VGA driver:
  26.     Start Windows and choose at the Program Manager:
  27.             PROGRAM-RUN
  28.     and type B:\V7SETUP.

  31.              How To Update An Older SPEA BigWin Driver
  32.              -----------------------------------------
  33.     1) Exit Windows.
  34.     2) Delete the following files from the windows 3.1 system directory:  
  35.         \\Windows\system\  bigwS3*.drv 
  36.         \\Windows\system\      S3*.drv
  37.        and from the windows directory the files:
  38.         \\Windows\ V7*.*
  39.     3) Proceed now as mentioned in the part "Standard Installation".

  42. Note:    The BigWin driver uses VESA in some resolutions modes as well.   
  43. =====    So, if VESA support is required, a small memory resident program
  44.      should be executed. 
  45.      Install the MIRAGE utilities (from disk 1 of x).
  46.      OR:
  47.      Copy from this disk 'Drivers for Windows' the program V7MIRVBE.EXE 
  48.      on your harddisk and insert the program call in your AUTOEXEC.BAT 
  49.      file.

  55.     1) During first installation the driver will be installed with the 
  56.     lowest possible refresh rate at the chosen resolution.
  57.     If you use a high-class multi-sync monitor and you choose a
  58.     resolution 1024x768 and above, synchronisation problems may occur.
  59.     To prevent this, please choose at first the resolution
  60.     640x480. Afterwards you can change to the preferred resolution and
  61.     refresh rate with the utility V7SETUP, witch appears automatically 
  62.     after starting Windows.
  63.     
  64.     2) While installing the Windows drivers, you may be prompted for the
  65.      "V7-MIRAGE Driver for Windows disk" and the drive A:\ will be
  66.      displayed. When this happens, enter "B:\" if this diskette is in the
  67.      B: drive.  
  68.      If "Problem with disk drive A:" message is displayed, and the 
  69.      installation disk is in drive B:, press ESC twice, and re-enter "B:"
  70.      in the space provided.
  71.      The cause for these inquiries is a Microsoft WINDOWS routine.

  73.     3) Installing graphical drivers for Windows and Virus Check Programs
  74.      Virus check programs, such as the DOS 6.0 internal one, which search
  75.      for changes at *.exe and *.com files, detect changes at the file
  76.      win.com after installing the SPEA V7 BigWin driver. This is not a
  77.      virus, because while installing the driver, driver supplements will
  78.      be saved in this file.

  85.     1) The SPEA V7 BigWin Driver may not be used in 80286 based
  86.     systems. 
  87.  
  88.     2) VDD limitation:  Cannot execute any VGA graphics modes in a 
  89.     windowed mode. The XGA driver supplied by Microsoft has a similiar 
  90.     limitation.  
  91.  
  92.     3) True Color:
  93.     If you use more than 15 icons in one program group, a message will
  94.     tell you that not all symbols are converted correctly. These symbols 
  95.     will be displayed in black. This is caused by a Microsoft Program 
  96.     Manager limitation.

  98.     4) True Color und High Color drivers have problems writing texts
  99.     in the application Picture Publisher.
  100.  
  101.     5) CorelDraw - you may possibly encounter a problem when creating a
  102.     color flow in an object, when the flow angle is not vertical or
  103.     horizontal. Black lines may appear in the color flow. This problem
  104.     has occasionally appeared with 256 and High Color modes.

  106.     6) In 16 bit or 24 bit color modes display errors may occur within
  107.     big images in various programs.

  109.         7) To upgrade the V7-MIRAGE board to 2 MB and to work with the 
  110.         drivers that are delivered with this superdisk is not advisable, 
  111.         because in this case all resolutions with 64 k colors and the 
  112.         resolution 1152*870 with 256 colors do not work proper.

  119.     If you have problems with icons (corrupted) or the first letter
  120.     of an active window is corrupted then check your SYSTEM.INI,
  121.     header [CAR1K.DRV] and change the flag
  122.         CHIPSYNC=0
  123.     to      CHIPSYNC=1.
